Q-ADVANCE Launchpad funded under the DIGIT Routes to Synergies call

Building the consortium and the proposal for an EIC Pathfinder bid.

September 02, 2026

We have signed the grant agreement for Q-ADVANCE LaunchpadQuantum-level Accessible Detector for high Volumetric-resolution Advanced Next-generation Clinical and Environmental imaging — a twelve-month project funded through the DIGIT project call, Routes to Synergies.

Radiation imaging places growing demands on detector technology: higher spatial resolution, lower cost, and scalability across medical, industrial, and radiation protection applications. We have developed a detection technology that achieves significantly higher volumetric resolution while remaining cost-competitive with current state-of-the-art solutions. The technology is currently undergoing intellectual property protection, and has the potential to change how PET and SPECT imaging are done, with promising applicability to next-generation CT.

The purpose of Q-ADVANCE Launchpad is to prepare a competitive EIC Pathfinder proposal, building on the detector research group and infrastructure at the Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health. Over the coming year the project will focus on consortium building, targeted preliminary RDI activities to refine the technological concept, and capacity building within the team.

Beyond the proposal itself, the project is intended to strengthen Croatia's position in deep-tech and advanced digital technologies — through international partnerships, knowledge transfer, and better long-term use of existing research infrastructure.

We are looking for consortium partners. If you work on detector technology, medical imaging, or radiation protection and see an overlap with this work
